Baby Janes

We had our Baby Janes sewing group on Friday night at Lilly Patches in Boronia.
As always we had a great night and here's what some of the ladies were working on:

Maureen finished one of our designs: "Tessellate":

Close up of the centre block:

She has done a lovely job.  Unfortunately the photos don't do it justice.

Divna had this jelly roll quilt top finished(a present for a loved one:

And was working on some Crochet:

Just love this granny squares rug she is working on.

Then Robyn was working on a design that she created herself. She drew her inspiration from a motif on a birthday card:

She is blanket stitching this on her machine and the stitches are fantastic.  Might have to try machine blanket stitch one day! This is going to be stunning when it's finished.

Fiona was working on these wonderful little 3/8" hexies:

Not all sewn together yet, but we couldn't resist laying out all the hexies she's done to see how it's growing. She has fussy cut everything. She also had her Summer Dresden quilt with her that she making with fabrics bought in Japan last year.
Unfortunately everyone else liked this too, so no chance of sneaking this one home in my basket!  But we did buy some small hexie papers!

We didn't get pics of the rest, sorry. Jenny was working on stitcheries for baby quilt number 8. Her friends keep having babies!  Julie was working on clam shells and Laurel was working on some lovely embroidery.

Lisa and I were both working on the centre appliqué of our newest design.
We will hopefully be able to show you pictures soon.

Last night we went to White Night in Melbourne. Check out our Instagram for some pics we uploaded last night.

We hope you all have a great week,
Lou & Lisa

Cottage Garden Threads

A squishy soft parcel arrived in the mail today. They're the best kind, aren't they?

Here are the contents:

We are using them in our latest design. Love, love, love them!

Thanks to Pam & Katie of Cottage Garden Threads for creating such beautiful threads. They are hand dyed here in Australia.
We have received the Perle 8 threads; they are also available in Perle 12 and 6 strand cotton.

Can't wait to start stitching.

What happens when.....

So what happens when you live in a small house and have a really bad quilting habit???
Your Husband says "I would really like to sit at the table and eat!"
So he gets you one of these.....

This is my Quilting Bus!!

It's kind of the girl version of a man cave.

It fits probably 3/4 of my things inside. But what is still in the house is all neat and tidy.

Where the driver use to sit now is a big table with my sewing machine set up.
It has huge windows so great for natural light.
I had the best time sorting all my fabric out. It's amazing what you have that you forget about. Kind of like Christmas for a fabric-a-holic.
Now I need to do an outdoor area to sit outside and sew, so for my birthday I asked for vouchers for the local garden center to buy all the things I need.
I just love it!!!

My boys are all fighting over who claims it once my new big room is finished later this year, but I will be kind of sad to move out of the quilting bus.

I also just made this pin cushion for a swap in my Jo Morton Little Women's club with the Rabbits Lair Fabric Shop in USA.
We have a secret swapper and have to use all "Jo" fabrics. I should of made 2!!

Thanks for dropping by.
