WE REMEMBER

Today we remember the Men and Women from past and present who helped make our country the amazing place it is to live in.

We remember our family members who fought for us all.

We thank the current members who are still fighting for us.
The dawn service in our town had the most amazing turnout this morning.

Australian Quilt Convention.

Saturday saw us spend the day at the Quilt Convention, and what a lovely day we had.
It was at the beautiful Exhibition Building in Carlton. The architecture of this grand old building is just stunning!! Lucky it is, as although we took lots of quilt photo's we don't have any permission to use them on our blog from their makers so..........

But we can show you our purchases!!!

Lisa

So now the brains are doing overtime.

We are very excited that Quilters Companion have asked us if we would like to make a quilt for their gorgeous magazine!!
And of course we said "Yes"

So the paper and pencils are out and a new quilt is coming together. Sorry as much as we hate these secret post's we really can't show you as it's a scribble in progress. So you will have to wait to the project is released.
But we hope you will love it!!!

If you went to the show we hope you enjoyed it.

Our next trip is to the Sydney Quilt Show in June and then onto Brisbane for the
"QUILTS 1700-1945"
exhibition at the Queensland Art gallery.
These quilts are from the V&A in London.
It will also show the Rajah quilt from the National Gallery of Australia.

We are all booked to go and very excited.
If you are a lover of Antique Quilts you will not want to miss this!!

We thank everyone who supports our little quilting venture.

A Lovely day Today!!!

Today was our Autumn Stitch in Day.
We had a wonderful day with a great group of ladies. It was so great we forgot to get the camera out till nearly the end!!! It's always great to see our patterns in many different colours.

Sue & Cheryl were both working on the Monogram Quilt...

As was Joanie....

Maureen's melons for her Monogram quilt....

and then some lovely scrappy colours for this Monogram Quilt..

Here are some pictures of Autumn Stars and Autumn Rings...

And at our Spring day a few months back Sue and Cheryl both did clam shells and are busy hand quilting them......

The ladies were all very productive and had a lovely time with lots and lots of yummy food.
Isn't it funny how stitching and food seem to go hand in hand!!!
Thank you to June for all your hard work organising the day.
You did a wonderful job again.
Thank you to all who came today and we hope to see you again soon.

Autumnal Folly is this Saturday April 13th

Lilly Patches' Autumnal Folly workshop is on this Saturday.
We think we're organised (fingers crossed).
We're looking forward to seeing new and old friends.
Limited places are still available, so if you have nothing planned for Saturday, give June a call and come and spend a day sewing with us.
(Phone: 03 9761 2088)
If you came to Spring Fling and we are seeing you again on Saturday, please bring your quilts (both PHD's and finished mini quilts) for us to see.
I just couldn't resist making a second version of Lisa's Autumn Stars.  Not loving hand piecing as much as Lisa does, I machine pieced it and am very happy with the result.
It's not quilted yet....I can't decide how to quilt it????
This is Lisa's version.

As I've been on holidays this week, I also had the chance to finish "Abundance".
This sweet little quilt was a give away on Lori from Humble Quilts' blog.   She is a lovely quilter, so have look at her wonderful blog.

We have had some positive feedback from two shops, Mrs Martin's Quilt Shop in VIC and Quintessential Quilts in WA and we are posting them some patterns this week.  Thank you Karen & Sue.

If you're in Victoria, the AQC is coming up. It's held at Melbourne's Royal Exhibition Building from April 18-21.  Don't miss Needles and Pins stall while you're there.  Kaye will have Lisa's Tessellate quilt for you to see as well as our patterns on sale.
She'll also have a stunning new quilt from our friend
 Veronique of Wattlebird Designs.

As always, we hope you get some time to enjoy your sewing
