Lou's Autumn Stars

We have been busy behind the scenes.  We had a day of creative planning on Saturday.  New projects are on the go for workshop days that are planned for later in the year and early 2014, and also for a magazine.  We have a workshop day booked at Magic Patch Quilting in Tyabb on June 8th.  We believe there are still limited spaces available....
You may remember that I started my own version of Lisa's Autumn Stars from our Autumn in the Valley pattern. I decided to hand quilt it.  My hand quilting is naive.  I really haven't hand quilted much at all.  I always thought it was too much trouble.  But I have to say I have done my naive hand quilting on a few small quilts lately and I'm really enjoying it.

At the Australasian Quilt Convention in April we both bought this beautiful linen thread from L'uccello.
This is what I have used for hand quilting in my Autumn Stars quilt and it is wonderful to stitch with...(once I bought needles with a bigger eye that is!)
So back to cutting and sewing of our magazine quilt.....deadlines are looming.....
Have we told you how well we work to a deadline!!

PS the countdown is on.  23 sleeps until Sydney and Brisbane......
Can't wait......

Until next time
Lou & Lisa

  2. Hi Judy, We are coming up for the V&A show in Brisbane and
we are talking to a shop about a possible "trunk show" as we are bringing all our quilts with us. We are hoping that this will lead to a workshop. We promise as soon as we have firm details, we will post it on our blog. Lou & Lisa
